What does Science Club do?
As a club, our goal is to expose elementary students to the world of science. We go to our feeder schools to work with the 3rd grade classes. Each science club member will be expected to teach the concepts through lab. Members are divided into groups. They work together to teach a lab to a 3rd grade class. This requires active engagement with the students.
We also have done an open house at an elementary. Here we do demonstrations that are more explosive and attention grabbers. It is presented by the whole group along with the sponsors.

Centripetal Force and Bernoulli's Principle

Half are Pre AP while the others are in Regular Education Science Classes. Half are band members, and almost all kids are involved in other extracurricular activities. We also have athletes as well as honor students.
The sponsors are Ms. Pustejovsky who teaches biology, and Ms. Harper who teaches chemistry and physics.

Does the club fundraise?
Currently, we hold a summer camp for elementary students. Proceeds from this camp went towards buying material and equipment. The equipment can be utilized in the elementary schools as well as in the high school labs. All travel expenses to the elementary schools are paid for by club dues.
